The message of Ahl al-Bayt (AS) comes in two forms: one is general, and the other is specific, Ali Abdollahzadeh, an associated professor of Quran and Hadith Sciences at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, said in a local conference.
“At times, the audience of Ahl al-Bayt (AS) are those with weaker faith, and in such cases, their message is general; However, sometimes they speak to their devoted and faithful followers, delivering a special and specific message,” he added.
“The general message of Ashura is about freedom and being free, while the specific message concerns jihad and struggle,” he added.
Imam Hussein (AS) was the grandson of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and the son of Imam Ali (AS), the first Shia Imam. He is revered by Shia Muslims as the third Imam and the leader of the martyrs. He sacrificed his life and his family in the Battle of Karbala in 680 CE, where he faced the tyrannical army of Yazid I, the Umayyad caliph. He is remembered for his courage, piety, and resistance against injustice and oppression.

“The enemy aims to encourage mourning for the Imam without spreading Imam Hussein's (AS) message to the modern world,” Abdollahzadeh said.
In today's era, it's widely recognized that humanity is in dire need of divine guidance, and the teachings of Imam Hussein's (AS) movement offer the “purest and most profound” messages for humanity, he added.
A truly free person is one whose soul is liberated from sin, anxiety, anger, and worldly attachments, he said, adding that such a person is unconcerned with material matters, such as when or what they eat, as they are detached from the chains of the world.
Martyr Morteza Motahari discusses "spiritual freedom," which refers to a person whose true nature and essence are awakened, he said.
A free person can break free from worldly chains with a mere flick, just as Al-Hurr ibn Yazid Al-Tamimi did when he understood the depth of freedom within himself through Imam Hussein's (AS) guidance, according to the professor.
Now, over 300 days have passed since the Israeli war on Gaza, and the enemy's efforts have been focused on preventing the truth from reaching the people of the world, yet they have not succeeded, Abdollahzadeh noted.

Imam Hussein (AS) once addressed the followers of Abu Sufyan, saying, “If you don't believe in any religion and don't fear the Resurrection Day, at least be free in this world,” said the lecturer, adding, “This is the universal and general message of Imam Hussein (AS).”
“Today, we must harness the message of freedom to confront Israeli crimes,” he highlighted.
People all over the world understand this message because the regime has taken the lives of thousands of women, children, and the elderly, Abdollahzadeh said.
